Summer Maintenance Do’s

A new or new-to-you vehicle will not stay new forever. To keep your ride in topnotch shape, follow these summer maintenance tips.

Here at Taylor Automotive GMC, we offer you the full lineup of Chevy and GMC cars, trucks, and SUVs. What you drive is dependent on your day-to-day routine, your personal preference, and a combination of your needs and wants. Looking to drive behind the wheel of a Camaro? Planning to pull a camper with a GMC Canyon for a weekend at the lake? Hoping to take the family cross country in an Acadia? Our inventory provides the vehicle answer to all your driving questions and needs.

But once you have the keys in hand, what do you do to keep your ride at peak performance? A little TLC can make all the difference. Here are our Summer Maintenance tips:

  1. Detail the interior at least once a year. The summer is a great time to tackle this project. Vacuum the floorboards and the seats, and don’t forget to dive into the cracks and crevices! Be sure to wipe down the surfaces with a fabric-appropriate cleaner. If you time isn’t on your side or you lack the interest, you can always pay for a full vehicle detail.

  2. Get a carwash once a month. If you are a tough mud driver, hunter, fisher, or sand dune enthusiast, you may want to consider a wash after each outdoor excursion. Removing mud, grime, and debris will help keep your paint job fresh and fight rust that eats away at metal over time.

  3. Keep your oil fresh and follow the oil change guidelines – either by date or mileage, whichever comes first.
